I worked, fulltime--- all of my adult life---in order to
support myself. When-ever I saw an opportunity to improve my salary, my skills, and my professionalism, I accepted a new job in another town or state. Most of the time, I was unfamiliar with the people or my surroundings
so—it was important I stay positive and optimistic. I taught myself to consider each move as--- another adventure.
a nice place to rent that was both attractive and affordable was always a challenge. Most of the time, I had to choose from rental properties that were very- old and very-depressing so-- I learned to create my very-own “Life—With A View.”
It proved to be my solution for finding much-needed Happiness inside me.
I’ve always needed to live in a quiet environment
with less stress—in a home that felt more harmonious than chaotic and a place as visibly- attractive as possible. Natural Light means everything to me. When searching for a place to live, I always look for windows, lots and lots of windows. It’s
impossible to feel sad or unhappy when you can view the sky, admire the trees, and enjoy the companionship of nature.
But, when you are forced to compromise
and take whatever’s available then---you create windows by hanging mirrors in strategic places. Sounds expensive, right? Absolutely not! I’ve found super-low prices on large, framed mirrors in such places as Habitat for Humanity, Resale Shops,
Salvation Army, and Goodwill Stores. And, never under-estimate Garage Sale Bargains. Since I drove a Jeep Cherokee during my many--moves-- it was easy to transport my large purchases/projects-- for free.
From the beginning of my many job-changing moves, I invested in a large tool kit and supplied it with a good hammer, drill, hand saw, nails of all sizes, and multiple picture-hanging accessories--
including wire, hooks, molly bolts, and even a stud-finding device with a level. I believe in doing my own labor whenever possible.
of what happened at my day job, I always looked forward to "going home" because--- I planned it that way. Each HOME--- away from home--- represented my security, my safety, and my haven of love. Throughout my life, almost-always-alone, I recognized my
need for pretty surroundings; for a personally-pleasing place that felt like home. I prided myself on knowing how to shop with an expert eye-- for beauty and bargains!
Today, no longer working, I still require a place that feels like home. Home means "views" in all directions—views that spotlight my familiar pretties, happy memories, my wonderful dog and cats, and-- most-loved treasures.
Sadly, the last time I moved, I was forced to sell quite a few of my pretties and—willingly- gave many-more away, but--I couldn't say goodbye to my very- dearest and most-loved—keepsakes.
Now, every morning--- my pretties greet me--like family. At the end of the day-- when I “slow down” and relax-- my one-of-a-kind treasures are patiently waiting, happy to share their eye-catching, forever-
beauty, and loving memories. My Life--With- A- View can best be described in these words: "Trust your heart to see what your eyes are unable to comprehend."
