JUST "MOVING" ALONG-- SINGING A SONG-- ALL THE DAY LONG.
I moved to Hot Springs Village one year ago today and let me say.... moving is never easy. I should know--- having moved more than 20 times! Trust me when I say: unlike the good-old-days.....
these days... good help is not only hard to find... but almost impossible to afford!
So--I've been doing most everything by myself. Yes, I'm doing my strong woman number. It's
true, I can still cut the mustard but I lost interest in "cutting the mustard" a long-while back. I simply want to write but, unfortunately, strong women--like me--know we must do...what we have to do...to get where we want to be.
Thank goodness my daddy taught me how to use a hammer, a saw, and a tape measure. And, I'm never without my very-large and well-equipped Tool Box.
I admit it takes longer to accomplish my daily to-do list and my pace is half what it once was but... I've been able to unloaded more than 200 boxes containing many thousands of items which I must then separate into "Keepers--Givers--and
Sellers.” Keepers are a challenge because I must keep finding room for all of them. So many decisions and sadly...decisions always involve my heart.
Most of my boxes are heavy but I've learned to improve my "lifting ability" with every struggle. I'd estimate there are fewer than 100 boxes still waiting for my attention. Sure, I'm
happy with what I've accomplished but I'll be damn-glad when I open the last box! No denying...."I've come a long-way, baby!"
My real "challenge" is in knowing how to tear down
boxes--both small and large--then loading them all--including huge amounts of paper, foam, and bubble wrap-- and getting everything to the village dumpsters without a truck or an SUV! No one ever said moving gets easier with age.
I smile, just knowing my daddy proudly watches over me. He is my motivator and my role model.
Okay. Prepare to see pictures of the work-in-progress,
