I GO "BAT-Sh##-CRAZY" OVER HATS.

I LOVE HATS. I like the way I feel each time I wear a hat. But, not every hat sends the same message.

In this photo, I'm wearing the hat worn by my Chinese Hotel's Commander of Uniformed Doormen and Special Security Forces.

In a unique and very-dignified appreciation ceremony, the staff of my hotel presented me with a series of gifts, including the one pictured above. The appreciation ceremony took place just one week before I was leaving China, permanently, to return to America.

I learned from my Chinese students that receiving this hat was the highest honor ever presented to an American working for the Chinese Government. For me, this hat makes a strong statement of power.... but only if I wear it in China!
