ANOTHER SILVER POLISHE: SHOULDER TO SHOULDER PERFECTION.

It’s time to add a pair of inexpensive items to your wardrobe.  If you have narrow shoulders, sloping shoulders, or slightly-stooped posture---these two items will make all the difference in how you look.

No…I’m not talking about huge shoulder pads that were fashionable in bygone days.  I’m talking about small pads that…unlike “falsies” or artificial butt cheeks....don't look like great-fake “pretenders”.  Natural-looking pads that easily slip under your bra straps, simply give a small “lift” and an ever-so-slight widening to your shoulders.   These pads will instantly make your posture look better, smooth out your upper attire, and give you a better-balance between what's above and what's below your waistline. A classic "hour glass figure" is always in-vogue.   The right shoulder pad can improve narrow and sloping shoulders that cause women to look fragile, weak, and stooped, so…why not?!?!?

BUT, make sure you wear small shoulder pads-- ones that easily blend with your naturally classic look....pads that won't scream: “I’m wearing shoulder pads!”

My secret: I’ve worn shoulder pads for decades.  I like the way they make me look and how they help my clothes fit.  It’s like draping my outfit over an elegantly-soft padded hanger as opposed to a narrow and unyielding wire hanger!

I’m not advocating that you buy a particular brand of shoulder pads.  In fact, my favorites are no longer available so….I must shop anywhere and everywhere to find pads that come-close to being like my old standbys.  Here’s what I look for and I suggest you do the same:

Look for naturally- rounded shoulder pads

Choose them in a nude color to match your skin color (keep it simple.)

Make sure the pads aren’t thick. You want them to widen your shoulders-- not make them look bigger.

Find pads that can slip under your bra straps.  You can adjust them to balance with your hips.

Make sure your shoulder pads are not visible through the fabric of your outfit.

Find pads that wash easily, dry quickly, and keep their natural shape.

I prefer to wear shoulder pads that are lace-covered and fiber-filled.  Decades ago, they were available at Hancock’s Fabrics but no more.  I keep searching for similar pads but…haven’t had much luck.  So, when necessary,  I grab my scissors, needle and thread, and  modify pads that have “too much of a good thing”.

Not long ago, A bought a pair of shoulder pads at Walmart... trimmed them down to "my size", then covered them with nude-colored lace.  Although  the procedure was a little time-consuming, I must admit they are now my favorites.

If you have narrow or sloping shoulders…try my suggestion and wear shoulder pads.  I promise you’ll like the way you look and feel.  Now...Throw-those shoulders back... stand tall... hold your head high... and…smile!!

Simply, Sally.

Lol, I loved reading this story! As a female that dated a couple men with Harleys, I totally understand and met Harley Guy myself, many times over!
I hope you get your 3wheels someday soon!
