In 1992, after losing all my money to my Mother, I was at the mercy of others… like some homeless person. For several months, I lived with my daughter and her first husband in Atlanta.

Then, offered a stipend by Lindenwood University's President to finish my degree at the women’s college I’d attended in the late fifties, I quickly accepted.  I only enjoyed a few weeks in my small campus apartment before the Democrat Party paid the University’s President one million dollars to fire me (documented).

Faced with living in my Jeep, I had no choice but accept a student’s offer to sleep on his couch.  In 1994, a miracle happened.  The Chinese Government offered me a teaching job, in China, and lost no time flying me far away from America.

Ten years later, when it was time to leave China and return to America, I asked my daughter if I could stay in her spare bedroom for a week or two while I tried to find a place to live. Immediately, her second and current husband stepped forward to lay-down- the-law: He told me I could only stay at their home for a very short time. He wanted to keep the spare bedroom available for his parents.

Then he laid out HIS hard and fast rules.  “I won’t tolerate reporters or investigators invading my privacy. If you’re at my house and I find out you’ve talked to even one reporter at the front door or on the telephone, you’ll be out of my house and on the streets in less than an hour.”

Yes, this was the same lawyer-son-in-law, who contacted me in China, telling me I must hire a DC Law Firm to “set the record straight; to help me regain my reputation....for my daughter's sake.” He said this Law Firm could make all the newspapers and magazines who had printed lies about me.... either run retractions or—face being sued by me. When I asked how much it would cost, he said not to worry about it; he’d take care of it. He assured me I'd soon be making money from the lawsuits.

Over a period of three or four months, I received a total of two retractions: One from US News and World Report and the other from a small newspaper in Georgia. Then, I received the law firm’s bill for more than six thousand dollars!

When I called my son-in-law from China, he said “What did you expect? These DC Firms don’t work for nothing!” Later, I found out the “hot-shot” Law Firm my son in law chose to clear my name was one of the most Liberal Law Firms on the East Coast!!!!

Of course it was okay that most of the nice furniture in their house had once been mine; it was okay that I’d shipped beautiful, one-of-a-kind treasures from China to my storage in Alexandria, VA and given my daughter and her husband a key.  They also had permission to pull any furniture from my long-term storage in Arkansas that could help furnish their home in Virginia.

And, it was perfectly okay that I spent endless hours coordinating with my famous Chinese Artist-Friend--- to paint classic portraits of my daughter, of my son-in-law…a classic oil painting of Myra’s father…a beautiful portrait of my ex-husband’s cat…. even an elaborate portrait of Myra’s  disgusting and unappreciative in-laws.

All those large and beautiful oil paintings were painstakingly created from small, old, black/white photographs. Most impressive...because of my friendship with the artist….the portraits were free!!!!

After returning to America and discovering that my son-in-law used my jeep—stored at their house—to haul heavy wooden doors and other building materials, forcing me to replace the vehicle’s transmission immediately in order to make it “drivable” — was okay too.

What I decided wasn’t okay—was the day I checked my bank account and learned my daughter’s husband had written checks on my account (the account I carefully maintained in America so my oldest daughter could pay my monthly storage fees). Yes, my son-in-law had written checks from my account for household expenses-- including his utilities, air-conditioning repair, car repairs and... for many other purchases completely unrelated to me.

When I asked my daughter WHY....she evaded the subject, saying her husband must have picked up the wrong checkbook. I tried to show her the entries and asked “How many times can you pick up the wrong checkbook over a period of months, before it looks like a plan rather than an accident?!?!?

She ended the conversation by asking me not to “confront him” because he wouldn’t “take it” well. Her solution was for me to add up the checks, give her a total, and she would “slip” me the amount.

I shook my head... said "Forget it"... and walked away.

PS. My “ex” son in law was jealous of every moment I spent with my daughter…whether in person, in an email, or on the phone. He expanded that jealousy when my grandsons, one by one, were adopted from Korea.

I’m not surprised. He comes from a selfish, self-serving family who are nothing more than White Trash with money. I’ll save their cheap antics for another day. They've all taken advantage of my daughter but...apparently she has lost all her "fight"... due to a medical condition.

I intend to enjoy the weekend without having to remember all the negatives in my past. But, from time to time....opening my many Pandora Boxes to the public.... allows me to permanently separate the trash from the treasures.
