When I write about my many experiences, my personal encounters, I almost-always refer to the voice inside me.  Over time, I’ve become confident that the “voice inside me” is my Guardian Angel.

My Angel has been with me a very long time.  We became extremely close on my journey of China’s Great Wall….so close that she put me “in touch” with other Angels….several I’d known from grade school.

As the first woman to travel the length of The Great Wall of China, I walked, climbed, and ran between 25-40 miles every day. At night, I slept on top of The Wall or beside it.  Completely exhausted after such extreme exercise and activity, I never had trouble falling asleep.

But nothing prepared me for the life-like dreams that came to me…almost every night.   In truth, each dream was more like an intimate visit from a long-ago friend.  Every friend who visited me was someone who’d died years earlier.

My friends from the past would “wake me” by entering my tent and starting a conversation.  I recognized each person; everyone looked like they’d looked when they were alive.

One by one, my long-ago friends greeted me by name, commented on my adventure….then assured me that he or she was traveling with me. The next morning, I’d reflect on “the dream” and marvel at the incredible “saneness” of it all.

I carefully described each dream in my journals, noting that everyone who entered my tent was introduced as "another Angel" the voice inside me.

Today is the first time I've shared these unexplainable encounters to anyone but they will be featured in my book,  ALL THE WALL.  In the light of an ordinary day, my encounters seem preposterous, super-natural, or just another episode from The Twilight Zone. But--using human logic-- many things can't be explained.

Probably my very first dream was the one I remember best. It started when the tent-flaps opened and there stood my fifth-grade boyfriend, Dwight Bishop, from Gabe Meyer School.  Dwight and I didn't so-much as hold hands but we wrote and exchanged lots of love notes to each other so….we experienced love only on paper.  Our romance probably lasted three months but….we stayed good friends throughout our Junior and Senior High School days.

Over time, I learned that Dwight married, had a successful career in sales, and continued to be loved and admired by all who knew him.  Then, without warning, I heard about his sudden death in a horrific accident involving an electric hedge-trimmer.  I remember feeling sad.  All I could think about was the loss of a long-ago friend.

The night I “saw” Dwight, he looked as handsome, as ever.   He smiled, only slightly, when he talked about the accident that caused his death. He explained there was no pain; that he’d felt no fear.  He simple closed his eyes and woke up in a beautiful place surrounded by love.  Every moment, he was with other Angels…..sharing love. Some of the time, he helped those who'd  died….to live again.

When I asked why he was traveling with me as I journeyed The Great Wall, he told me it was God’s Will...that God made all the arrangements.

Yes, I believe in God…in Life and Death…and in Angels. You may consider my encounters nothing more than dreams but, in my heart, there's no doubt  I was reunited with dear friends who are now... Angels.

PS.  Soon, I’ll be sharing more personal encounters with Angels.

Lol, I loved reading this story! As a female that dated a couple men with Harleys, I totally understand and met Harley Guy myself, many times over!
I hope you get your 3wheels someday soon!
